  • Are there scholarships available?
    The convention has a limited amount of funds available for scholarships. We urge you to contact your local meeting group or your local Intergroup FIRST. Many of them can help in providing partial scholarships to attend the convention. The Scholarship Application can be downloaded here: Scholarship Application
  • What happens if I have to cancel after I pay to attend the convention?
    The cancellation and refund policy is as follows:
    All refund requests must be made in writing to the Convention Committee by email to sawomensconvention@gmail.com.
    All refunds will be made by check and will be sent after the conventions are over.
    If your refund request is received between June 1, 2016 and April 5, 2017……Full refund
    If your refund request is received between April 5, 2017 and April 30, 2017…… $50 refund.
    If your refund request is received after May 1 ……no refund available.
  • Can I bring my children to the convention?
    No children are allowed at any of the convention meetings, activities, or meals. Nursing babies also are not allowed in convention meetings or meeting areas. However, you are welcome to bring your children to stay with you in the hotel and they are welcome to use the hotel facilities.
  • Where can I get audio recordings of the taped sessions?
    Some of the meetings will be recorded and will be later available in MP3 format.
  • What can I expect at the convention?
    A wonderful spiritual atmosphere of recovery and fellowship! A variety of recovery programs will be available. These include “plenary” speakers from SA, who will have messages—these talks follow dinner Friday and Saturday, and lunch on Saturday and will be also be on Sunday afternoon. Convention participants who do not take meals will be welcomed into the room for the talks. The day will be filled with breakout sessions. A fellowship room will be available for snacks, schmoozing, and relaxing. Temporary sponsors will be available for newbies. There are plenty opportunities for service.
  • How many people will be there?
    We are expecting 100 women from around the world.
  • Can I come even if I have never been to a meeting before?
    Absolutely! Certain breakout sessions will specifically target newcomers, and temporary sponsors will be available to help get you started!
  • What is the attire?
    In consideration of all attendees, please wear modest, loose-fitting, conservative clothing. Please do not wear shorts or open-toed shoes; shirt or blouse necklines should be high; minimize the use of cologne or perfume. Please speak in language suited to this dignified gathering, and inoffensive to all. Children may not attend convention-related activities, including meals.
